Travel Demand Forecasting

Hexagon’s modeling team are experts in developing and applying travel demand models to evaluate a variety of projects, including large-scale land use developments, transportation projects, and long-range planning studies. We put in the extra effort to make sure the results generated by the model make sense for the project.

It takes years to become intimately familiar with the modeling process as it requires manipulating large files with land use and demographic data and transportation network characteristics. It helps that we developed and regularly apply the local and regional models for many jurisdictions in the Bay Area. Our wealth of experience allows us to work on each project efficiently to keep the project schedule on track.

Our team is particularly experienced in transit ridership forecasting. We have provided patronage forecasts for FTA’s New Starts program for the BART extension to Silicon Valley!
