Gale Ranch 3 Traffic Studies
Hexagon was hired by Shappell Industries to study various traffic issues related to development of their Gale Ranch 3 residential project. The development would include approximately 1,200 dwelling units. Because the development is located in an area east of San Ramon that is now vacant, the developer must build all of the necessary roads and other infrastructure. Hexagon conducted the traffic study for the project in conformance with Contra Costa Transportation Authority guidelines. Hexagon also reviewed the proposed internal road system for adequacy and provided traffic forecasts to the noise consultant. One major issue relative to the development was how to maintain connectivity of the regional road system while the project is under construction. Hexagon used the Tri-Valley travel demand model to estimate traffic volumes on the area streets for various network options. Hexagon recommended a staging plan to ensure adequate capacity during construction.
