Brittan and Howard Streets Railroad Grade Separations
Hexagon Staff prepared the circulation section of the EIR for the Brittan and Howard streets grade separation. Because of their proximity, both streets would be grade-separated in one project. Existing traffic counts were taken and projections were made based on known development plans. The projections also included the planned new ramps to and from southbound 101 at Brittan. Some traffic was reassigned from Holly Street to use these new ramps. Another major issue was downstream traffic impacts to residential neighbor-hoods from the Brittan Avenue connection. Hexagon Staff quantified this impact and demonstrated to everyone's satisfaction that it would be minor.
